For plenum style filters, furnish dampers on top of the filters to provide a means of balancing the filters. The dampers shall have a gear mechanism that can be actuated through a port in the grid channel for top-load grid systems or through a port in the center bar of the filter for bottom-load systems. These dampers shall be the CLEANPAK Equalizer.

CLEANPAK International shall supply an equalizer of 0.032” aluminum material to meet the uniform airflow distribution of 90 FPM +/- 20%. The equalizer is a filter volume adjustment plate that allows each filter in the plenum to be individually adjusting air volumes from one filter to the next within 10% tolerance.

It consists of two matching slotted plates that form a plenum over the top of a filter and are adjusted by a mechanical drive system in the center of the filter. The HEPA filters shall be provided with a center divider, which has a recessed port, which allows an expandable well nut to be removed, an Allen wrench (3/16” hex) by others and can be turned to either increase or decrease the flow. The equalizer is attached to the filter by double back foam tape which allows the equalizer to be re-used on replacement filters
